PURPOSE

To guarantee the availability of trustworthy and prompt data through the correct development of quality control lab activities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Carry out lab tests (raw materials and finished product) in accordance with the operational procedures defined in the reference documentation
Manage the monitoring and measuring tools of the quality control lab
Analyse the competitors’ products according to defined methods and timing, recording those activities in computer format
Support the Line Manager in his working needs
Promote a safety-bound corporate culture
Apply the Corporate Principles and Values

Sofidel UK are looking for a conscientious and motivated Quality Assistant to join our Quality Department at our Baglan site in Wales. This is a hands-on role within a manufacturing environment, ideal for someone who enjoys practical work combined with strong administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect product samples from relevant departments across site

• Perform routine mechanical testing for quality checks on paper product

• Accurately record, report, and maintain quality data and documentation

• Support the Quality team and the wider site with auditing activities

What you'll need:

• Ability to work well both independently and within a team

• Skilled in managing administrative tasks, prioritising workload and working effectively to deadlines.

• Previous experience in a similar quality role (ideally in the manufacturing industry)

• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills

• Ability to work well both independently and within a team

Nice top Have's:

• Experience with quality audits (ISO 9001 and/or BRC)

• Degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline
