Position Overview
Sofidel America is a subsidiary of the Sofidel Group, one of the leading manufacturers of paper for hygienic and domestic use worldwide. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a skilled Converting Equipment Specialist to join our team.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot converting equipment
- Ensure efficient and safe machine operation to meet production goals and quality standards.
- Perform routine equipment inspections, adjustments, and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team for complex equipment repairs and upgrades.
- Monitor production processes, making necessary adjustments to optimize performance.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and production data.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all tasks that operators need to perform to operate, maintain, and change over equipment successfully.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior operators and technicians.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification in machinery operation or related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Converting Equipment Specialist or similar role in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting converting machinery.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to read equipment manuals and schematics.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
