Position Overview

Sofidel America of Oklahoma is currently seeking a Process Engineer. We are searching for a candidate that is local to the area and is looking for a long-term role in a stable environment. Your expertise will make you an important part of our team!

The Process Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, reliability, productivity, capital implementation and continuous improvement of industrial processes regarding manufacturing tissue paper products. The Process Engineer will work with chemical and biochemical processes for raw materials and scale up processes from the laboratory into the manufacturing facility.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities involve understanding the reactions taking place in the paper making process, installing control systems, and starting, running and upgrading the processes.
  • Environmental protection and health and safety aspects are also significant concerns.
  • Assess processes for relevance and ensure the adequacy of engineering equipment.
  • Examine existing data to see whether more research and information are required.
  • Conduct process-development experiments to scale in a laboratory as needed.
  • Assess availability of raw materials and the safety and environmental impact of the plant.
  • Maintain control over project supply costs and timelines.
  • Select, manage, and work with subcontractors and vendors as needed to monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of the plant.
  • Assume responsibility for risk assessment, including hazard and operability (HAZOP) assessments, for the health and safety of company staff and the general public.
  • Ensure that the process runs at maximum efficiency, with the proper rate and quality of output to meet supply needs.
  • Making observations and taking measurements directly, as well as collecting and interpreting data from the other technical and operating staff involved.
  • Assuming responsibility for environmental monitoring and ongoing performance of processes and process plant.
  • Ensuring that all aspects of an operation or process meet specified regulations.

Other duties may include:

  • Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedule and quality requirements. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
  • Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

This role sits within a salary range of $80k - $90k, defined based on internal equity and external market benchmarks. The final offer will be tailored, reflecting the selected candidate’s experience, skills, and overall contribution to the role.
