Position Overview
Sofidel America of Oklahoma is currently seeking a Paper Mill Shift Supervisor. We are searching for a candidate that is looking for a long-term role in a stable environment. Your expertise will make you an important part of our team!
The Paper Mill Shift Supervisor will perform functions to supervise the operations of the paper mill including set up, assignment of staff, and organizing mill area to maintain and supervise the safe and efficient operations, as guided by precedent and while working within the limits of established policies.
Job Responsibilities
Ensure the proper handling, identification, and placement of items as they move from off-load to inventory, monitor the process, and respond to any production-related problems at the mill.
Determine the necessary operational supplies, and work with colleagues to make sure the suitable materials are supplied and fed into the mill at the appropriate times.
Identify equipment problems and assist with repairing and servicing equipment/parts as needed.
Participate in the hiring process by conducting interviews for new hires, manage assigned staff, provide employees with direction by assigning and evaluating tasks, investigate and resolve problems, and train employees to maintain the paper mill's operation properly.
Initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, terminations, or disciplinary measures. Determine current and future staffing levels.
Check the production area before the shift starts and resolve any issues relating to finished products. Conduct meetings prior to each change to review safety procedures and production orders, and communicate issues with the following production shift.
Work with human resources to coordinate matters including employee discipline, safety, and productivity.
Participate in committees for process improvement and safety in paper mills, and recommend policies and enhancements.
Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and meet schedules and quality requirements. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional materials and supplies.
Keep the workspace in a clean and tidy state while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to safety protocols and equipment operating guidelines.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

An Associate’s degree and three (3) years of experience in a paper mill is preferred, or a high school diploma or similar and five (5) years of paper mill experience is required.

At least three (3) years of supervisory experience is preferred.

Must have a forklift certification.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.

This role sits within a salary range of $80K - $90K , defined based on internal equity and external market benchmarks. The final offer will be tailored, reflecting the selected candidate’s experience, skills, and overall contribution to the role.
