The Role:
Sofidel UK have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Health and Safety Manager to join our team in Leicester. Overseeing our two sites in Leicester, this role incorporates traditional H&S and innovation, striving to ensure our operations are not only as safe as can be, but efficient. Our goal is to make every day a better day and this philosphy is one that resonates across both of the Plants. As the Health & Safety Manager at Sofidel no two days will ever be the same. This varied, stimulating and demanding role requires a vibrant and proficient Health and Safety Manager that is happy to get stuck in. At Sofidel, our Health & Safety Manager plays a vital role in protecting our people and shaping a culture where safety is not just a priority—but a shared responsibility across both of our Leicester sites. We are big on sustainability and as the Health & Safety Manager, you will play an integral part by supporting our workforce on the journey to create our unrivalled products that use ever lower levels of national capital.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for ensuring H&S best practices, policies & procedures are adhered to, including review of regulatory legislation
- Ensuring all staff receive sufficient H&S related training in order to carry out their function safely & effectively
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders on H&S matters
- Participating in weekly production meetings to ensure an accurate and clear understanding of the Plants targets
- Working collaboratively with the Plant Manages to deliver the H&S strategy
- Review, adapt and implement new risk assessments throughout the Plants ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
- Evaluate the compliance of machines against the legal requirements and make suggestions on improvements to be made
- Identify gaps in training and risk assessments and work in conjunction with the relevant department to eliminate potential risks
Additional Skills/ Requirements
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- Experience using SAP
- Experience with ISO 45001
- Experience of internal & external audits
- Ability to prioritise and problem solve
