The Role:
As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of paper hygiene products, we are continuously striving to innovate and improve, as such Sofidel UK are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to be based at our Papermill in Hamilton, Leciester. This position will sit within an established engineering team that thrives on continuous development of knowledge and practical application. This role is suited to someone wanting to grow and develop into a competent Mechanical Engineer in a manufacturing setting. Main Duties:
- Attend breakdowns including troubleshooting; problem solving; and preventative maintenance
- Carry out preventative maintenance under the supervision of an experienced engineer
- Ensure equipment and operating procedures are correct
- Oversee mechanical devices while in operation to understand components
- Carry out routine testing on mechanical devices where necessary
- Assist the team with the disassemble and assembly of mechanical components
- Carry out welding activities as and when required
- Ensure a high level of housekeeping in the workshop and shop floor
Additional Requirements:
- Mechanical/hands on engineering background
- Level 3 Apprenticeship trained or degree
- Experience with mechanical components including motors, bearings etc.
- Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatics
- Ability to read schematic drawings
