Mechanical Technician (in shift)

THE ROLE

Play a key role in our day-to-day operations and help uphold the high standards we’re known for. Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining mechanical processes to ensure maximum reliability throughout your shift.

As part of one of Europe’s leading suppliers of soft tissue hygiene products, you will provide essential support to the manufacturing process behind the products seen on shelves every day. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced environment, offering excellent opportunities to develop your skills and expand your technical knowledge while working to the highest industry standards.

The successful candidate will be a proactive and reliable individual with a strong mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach to problem-solving. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and take pride in maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and performance. You’ll play a key role in reducing downtime, improving machine performance, and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide first hand intervention when there is a mechanical breakdown and assist with troubleshooting of equipment problems
• Repair and perform preventive maintenance as per established standards and plans
• To check equipment and operating systems and correct wherever necessary
• To ensure mechanical operations, standards and controls are maintained at high quality
• Complete maintenance care obligations and render assistance in equipment repair as necessary
• To perform quality improvement and cost reduction and productivity as obligated
• To oversee mechanical devices while in operation and listen for complications using accurate testing and measuring instruments
• To take out inoperative parts by disassembling devices with the use specific tools
• Regulate downtime by enlightening production staff on standard preventive maintenance methods
• Maintain records and files if requested
• To participate in emergency on-call duty on a rotational basis and work all shifts flexibly when job demands
• Ensure a high level of housekeeping of the working area is maintained throughout the shift
• To ensure health & safety rules are adhered to

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven hands-on experience within a manufacturing environment
• Recognised apprenticeship or degree within the field of : mechanical engineering/electrical engineering/engineering
• FMCG experience

WORKING HOURS

4 shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off)

• 06:00-18:00 & 18:00-06:00
