Upender FLT Operator

What you'll need

• Previous experience working in a manufactoring environment 
• Happy to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern 
• FLT License is an advantage but we can provide full training 
• The desire to progress with Sofidel 

PURPOSE

Move the Parent Reels from the end of the paper machine to the Warehouse in compliance with the working instructions and the safety guide lines.

What's the role?

Our FLT uppenders play a key role in supporting the safe and efficient handling of large paper reels throughout Sofidel’s papermill. They are responsible for lifting, rotating, and positioning reels with precision, ensuring smooth transitions between production stages and minimizing downtime. By operating specialised equipment and following strict safety procedures, they help maintain consistent workflow, protect product quality, and keep the mill running at peak performance.  In this role, you’ll be responsible for safely moving wrapped and labelled parent reels from the paper machine to the warehouse, as well as preparing, transporting, and positioning reels for wrapping when required. You may also be involved in weighing, wrapping, labelling, and applying quality-approved stickers to reels, along with recording key information in the stock management system. Operating forklifts and clamp trucks is a core part of the job, and you’ll complete daily equipment checks and report any faults to ensure a safe and efficient workflow throughout the mill 

What you''ll do

• Move the  wrapped and labeled Parent Reels from the end of the paper machine to the Warehouse
• Prepare, move and place the parent reels from the end of the paper machine to the wrapper if required by the layout of the site
• Weight, wrap and label the reels if required
• Record details in the stock management system if required
• Apply stickers in line with quality procedure
• Operate Fork lifts and Clamp trucks safely, complete daily checks and report faults
• Operate any other needed equipment in accordance with training guidelines
• Maintain the equipment guaranteeing the daily functioning in line with the work instructions
• Assist with the operation and cleaning of the paper machine when available, including all tasks where trained
• Comply with all defined standards for quality, environment and Health and Safety
• To ensure a high level of housekeeping of the working area is maintained throughout the shift
• To ensure health & safety rules are adhered to
